Gran Destino Tower

I recently had the privilege of staying at Disney's Coronado Springs in the Gran Destino Tower for the first ever Mouse Marketplace meetup! This was a delightful experience and one I am thrilled to share with you.

Gran Destino is a 15-story tower that embodies Spanish, Mexican, and Southwest American theming.  Today we will explore my top 5 reasons to stay at Coronado Springs Gran Destino Tower.

Excellent Pricing

First up is the excellent pricing. Gran Destino is priced as a Moderate resort but packs the punch of Deluxe in every way.  You will not be disappointed with the new accommodations and beautiful architecture.  From the moment you enter, you are whisked away into relaxation.  The bang for your buck is not to be out done by any Disney resort in the Moderate class.

Beautiful Entrance / Lobby

Second, the lobby is by far one of my favorite features at this resort.  This lobby is an impressive two stories and features Moorish hanging lanterns and decorative bronze screens inspired by Spanish tiles.  It invites you to take a moment and enjoy a cup of coffee while taking in the beauty that is all around.

Delicious Dining Options

Third, there is no lack for dining options on site here at Coronado Springs.  El Mercado de Coronado features grab and go fare for breakfast lunch and dinner.  Next is Rix Sports Bar and Grille.  Rix has American food with a classic spin on sports fare and boasts 31 tv's for you to watch the game and unwind.  Outside and you will find the amazing Three Bridges Bar and Grill at Villa del Lago.  In this open air setting you will find Spanish American ambiance and cuisine.  The Barcelona Lounge is a beautiful spot to grab your morning coffee, a pastry or a light snack and located in the lower level of the Gran Destino Tower.

The Dahlia Lounge is a perfect spot to grab a drink and tapas.  With sweeping views of the Disney skyline, you will not lack for something beautiful to take in while enjoying a drink with friends.  You can also enjoy some yummy drinks and food at the Siestas Cantina. Temporarily unavailable are the Laguna Bar, Toledo - Tapas, Steak and Seafood, Maya Grill, Café Rix, and room service.   As you can see, there is no lack for amazing options to please any appetite.

Spacious Rooms

Gran Destino Tower has well-appointed spacious accommodations.  There are beautiful wood floors, plenty of storage and Keurig coffee maker. The bathroom comes as a pleasant reminder that this is not your typical moderate resort.  Rain head shower fixtures, beautiful tile and double sinks make for a luxury feel.

Gorgeous Pool

And finally my favorite part, The Dig site is the main attraction!  Consisting of the largest pool on property, Siesta Cantina pool bar and Grill, the hot tub, kids’ playground, firepit, beach volleyball court, and arcade.  There is something here for everyone.

The Dig Site aquatic area is anchored by a 50 ft Mayan pyramid replica.  Cascading water flows down into the largest pool on property, the Lost City of Cibola Pool.  There is even a spitting Jaguar slide.  There are also 3 other pools across the Coronado Property.

The Dig site pool is home to the largest hot tub on Disney property with room for 22 people! Kids can run jump and play on this archaeologically themed playground near the Dig Site complex. Coronado Springs is the only moderate resort to have its own spa and fitness club and La Vida Health Club—a full-service facility featuring workout equipment, spa services and more—or at the Fitness Center at Gran Destino.

Other special features include a .9-mile scenic trail that loops around the 22-acre Lago Dorado lake, campfire activities and movies under the stars.

If you are looking for an exquisite resort that is priced right with all the amenities this is the Disney resort for you!
